Do you know a local sporting hero? then this is your chance to nominate them for a top county sports award.

Now in our seventh year, the Energize Awards recognise people that take part, work and volunteer in sport and physical activity across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

The awards are an opportunity for local people and organisations to be celebrated for their passion, dedication and commitment to grass-roots sport.

If you know people, teams, clubs, organisations or businesses that deserve to be recognised for their achievements or contributions to local sport, or if you know someone that has become more physically active and improved their health, please take the time to nominate them.

The categories for this year are:

Coach of the Year || Volunteer of the Year || Young Volunteer of the Year
Sports Person of the Year || Young Sports Person of the Year
Community Club of the Year || Senior Team of the Year || Junior Team of the Year Community Project of the Year || Employer of the Year || Active Lifestyle Award Newcomer of the Year || Outstanding Contribution to Sport and Physical Activity

This year the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 7th November at Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

"London 2012 has been and gone but there is no better time to be celebrating sporting achievement and thanking those who drive the Olympic and Paralympic legacy forward every day. As well as acknowledging the very talented sports people in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, the Energize Awards seek to recognise the excellent work that goes on behind the scenes to make sport happen from grass roots right up to professional level."
Chris Child,
Chief Executive for Energize Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin
